Photoselection anisotropy will be highlighted as means to investigate the absorption anisotropy of quasi-1D semiconductor nanoparticles. Considerations from the use of this technique in organic dyes will be addressed; namely, lifetime and rotational diffusion considerations. The poster will demonstrate how excitation scans can be used to determine the underlying anisotropy of an ensemble, explore the interface between single-molecule data and ensemble measurements using photoselection, and address the possible influence of dielectric environment on the absorption anisotropy at high energies using variable dielectric solvents.
