This paper presents field testing results for effectiveness of Polydopamine antifouling coatings on MF and UF membrane filtration processes in terms resistance to fouling, productivity (flux), and impact on frequency of chemical cleaning maintenance, footprint and overall performance. This innovative technology, developed over the last few years by University of Texas researchers, is based on a polydopamine (PDOPA) functional coating layer, emphasizing to address the fouling issues associated with membranes used in various water treatment processes
