Vacuum experiments coupled with narrow diameter microjets can be used to explore solute and solvent evaporation and condensation involving liquids with vapor pressures up to and exceeding one Torr.  These liquids include hydrocarbons (such as dodecane) and protic liquids (such as ethylene glycol and water).  This talk will describe experiments involving non-Maxwellian evaporation of gases from these liquids and the scattering of non-reactive gases such as He, Ne, Ar, O2, and alkanes to investigate gas-liquid energy transfer and dissolution, with particular application to jet fuel mixtures.  Future experiments include collisions of gas-phase radicals that may convert surface molecules into reactive species.
