We have hierarchically organized the crystal structures of over 300 inorganic tetravalent actinide oxy-compounds based on structural connectivity.  The structures are finite clusters, chains, sheets and 3-dimensional frameworks.   The arrangement of these structures into a structural hierarchy has highlighted the diversity of tetravalent actinide crystal chemistry across the periodic table and the need for more studies to further develop trends within this system.  We will present the crystal structures and properties of new inorganic thorium(IV) compounds containing tetrahedral oxyanions such as SO42-, SeO42- and AsO43-.  The structures will be compared to U(IV), Np(IV) and Pu(IV) crystal structures to seek trends within the actinide series and to expand our understanding of the crystal chemistry of tetravalent actinides.
