My group has studied catalytic and stoichiometric reactions of organometallic compounds that form bonds between carbon and both electropositive elements, such as boron and silicon, and electronegative elements, such as nitrogen and oxygen. These reactions are part of catalytic C-H bond functionalizations, as well as catalytic cross-coupling, hydroamination and allylic substitution reactions, developed in our laboratory. This lecture will present recent results on the transition metal complexes that undergo carbon-heteroatom bond formation by a sequence involving olefin insertion or reductive elimination.
