Pyridazinones have proved to be a good ring scaffold for the discovery of crop protection products.  We have found that pyridazinone 4-carboxanilides and their heterocyclic equivalents have fungicidal activity against Puccinia recondita and other economically important pathogens. Methods to synthesize these compounds will be presented along with a summary of the biological activity and structure-activity relationships of this class.
