In this work, the utility of photoredox catalysis is demonstrated in the context of a century old synthetic transformation:  the hydrothiolation of alkenes.  Despite the operational simplicity and high efficiency offered by this coupling process, commonly referred to as thiol-ene click (TEC) chemistry, its synthetic value has gone largely underappreciated.  The goal of this work is to not only demonstrate the robustness and potential utility of thiol-ene chemistry in organic synthesis, but also to showcase the applicability of photoredox catalysis to other areas of research including dendrimer synthesis, polymer chemistry, and biomolecule functionalization.
