Finding alternative energy sources such as solar, wind, and wave become valuable in the future, and it will be increasingly important to develop low-cost, high-power, environmental, renewable, safe energy sources for energy storage and energy production system. In this study, we proposed simple and facile synthesis methods of conducting polymers (CPs) and metal oxides_based nanomaterials, such as multidimensional CP nanotubes, metal oxides_decorated ultrathin carbon nanofibers, porous metal oxide nanofibers, and core/shell CP NPs. These unique nanomaterials showed higher surface areas and excellent electrical properties. Significantly, higher storage was able to be achieved from CPs and metal oxide-based nanomaterials also showed excellent performance in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs). Moreover, the controlled physical and chemical properties of the nanomaterials can lead desirable electrical devices for energy storage and conversion.
