Reverse micelle formed by amphiphilic homopolymer with negative charges at its hydrophilic segment has been shown to extract specific peptides from mixtures based on electrostatic interaction. We have investigated the reactivity of peptide towards labeling reagent inside this negative charged reverse micelle. We demonstrate that by changing pH, we can easily achieve selective labeling of different functional groups of the peptide. Furthermore, labeling study is carried out in free buffer and positive charged amphiphilic polymer to understand the principles that dictate this selectivity.
