A simple and sensitive single step hollow fiber membrane assisted liquid phase extraction (HF-LPME) procedure wasfor the first time demonstrated for sulfur compounds dissolved in petroleum crude oil samples. Nineteen sulfur compounds from various crude oil and diesel fraction sampleswere extracted across a supported liquid membrane (SLM) consisting of immiscible organic solvent n-methyl pyrrolidone in the porous polypropylene as acceptor solution in the lumen of the propylene membrane. Various experimental conditions with respect to extraction time, selection of solvents, acceptor and donor phase ratios, and quantitative parameters were evaluated. Under optimized conditions, all nineteenanaltyes had enrichment factors ranging from 40 to 987 with relative standard deviations (RSD) less than  12%.  Linearity was obtained for the range of 2 to 287 �g/mL with correlation coefficient of 0.998. The limit of detection was found to be from 0.01 to 0.14 �g/mL. The developed methodology was applied to Arabian crude oil samples and compared the performance of the method with American Standard testing Method (ASTM). The proposed method revealed that comparable recoveries with ASTM procedure.
