Research in the Dudley Lab is designed to further the science and practice of organic chemistry. Several new methods are under development, including a tandem nucleophilic addition / C�C bond-cleaving fragmentation reaction that generates alkynes. The presentation will focus on this on-going �alkynogenic fragmentation� methodology. Recent, unpublished applications to the synthesis of complex natural products and to the development of reagents for metal-free click coupling will be featured.
