The pectenotoxins (PTXs) are a group of marine natural products linked to diarrhetic shellfish poisoning. PTXs are highly cytotoxic polyethers. We reported a stereoselective synthesis of the AB spiroketal, a C1-C19 fragment and C21-C28 fragment. Here, we report the synthesis of the C21-C40 fragment of PTX4 were the F ring is accessed via cascade reaction involving spirodiepoxide (SDE).
