A novel TFNC NF membrane with substrate wholly fabricated by nano-fibers is introduced. From bottom to top, the membrane consists of poly (ethylene terephathalate) (PET) non-woven cloth, Polyacrylonitrile (PAN) electro-spun scaffold, cellulose nanofiber (CN) layer and polyamide (PA) barrier layer. An advanced coating process, slot die coating is introduced to improve membrane performance. Pore size distribution analysis shows that both substrate and coating method have no obvious influence on NF average pore size. However, membrane permeability has been improved definitely, which means trade-off between rejection and flux can be broken by the advanced processing and novel fibrous substrate. 20% bipiperidine (BP) with respect to weight of total amine monomers is added during slot-die-coated interfacial polymerization.  The TFNC NF membrane obtains flux twice as much as commercial NF membrane, NF 270.
