The theory of multiexciton generation in semiconducting nanocrystals is formulated in such a way that allows an extremely efficient calculation using a Monte Carlo method. The numerical effort scales near-linearly with system size allowing the study of MEG rates up to diameters and exciton energies previously unattainable using detailed atomistic calculations. In particular, experimental relevant sizes can now be studied even on a desktop machine. Using a screened pseudopotential framework, we study size, composition and energy dependence of the rates of biexciton generation in some semiconducting nanocrystals.
