We report on the preparation and characterization of a number of liquid crystalline (LC) dendrimeric networks, which have been designed to show diverse physical properties in addition to their mesomorphism. The networks have been prepared by the cross-linking of LC dendrimers by click Chemistry reactions.The most relevant results obtained show that they behave as LC elastomers, that they are able to afford microstructured organogels, which may be swollen with a variety of organic solvents and may encapsulate dyes reversibly.
