First-row bimetallics, particularly heterobimetallics, are an intriguing class of molecules. In order to study the differential effects of metal substitution, we have made a binucleating ligand that allows modular metallation procedures. Results on the synthesis, electronic and magnetic properties, and reactivity of bimetallics with a new binucleating ligand, tris(2-(2-pyridylamino)ethyl)amine, will be presented.
