Undergraduate chemistry students often leave their science programs with a minimal understanding of what is considered good laboratory technique, data analysis, and data reporting. While this is a product of several factors such as lack of equipment or curriculum deficiencies, analytical courses can be used to teach students how to implement basic laboratory and data fundamentals and their importance in the professional world. This approach dispels certain negative aspects among chemistry graduates such as poor technique, the CSI effect, and faulty data reporting. These fundamentals can be presented in an educational yet engaging manner which will be discussed in this seminar.
