Poly(Ne-carbobenzyloxy-L-lysine), PCBL, undergoes an inverse helix-to-coil transition in m-cresol as a function of temperature. When tethered on a silica sphere, the colloidal size, either on heating or cooling mode, measured by DLS and SLS decreases to a minimum corresponding to the transition temperature and then jumps gradually to a maximum and then tends to decrease again. In addition, the profile of T�T1/?o and SAXS data suggest the presence of broken or interrupted helices.
