Imogolite nanotubular clay has very unique structure and physicochemical properties. It has recently found very widespread and promising nanotechnological applications in various hybrid materials as a nanoscaled building blocks. Especially, nanobiotechnology have been demanded to converge on the nanotechnology with biology and medicine for fabricating new nano-device and curing disease. In this presentation, we prepared imogolite(IG)/hyaluronic acid(HA) hybrid hydrogels for tissue engineering varying imogolite contents via carbodiimide chemistry.  In vitro swelling and degradation test with HAse demonstrated that hybrid hydrogels with higher contents of imogolite has longer sustained degradation behavior, reflecting a high crosslinking density due to hydrogen bonds of imogolite fiber to the crosslinked hyaluronic acid networks.
