Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) are highly porous materials, promising for gas separation and storage. Single gas adsorption measurements have been established as a general method for quantification of gas capacities. If two gases have different adsorption behavior on the same material it is possible to separate gases through adsorption/desorption cycles. Compared to single gas adsorption measurements it is a complex task to measure the mixed gas adsorption of only two gases. Therefor mixed gas adsorption properties were usually not measured but calculated from single gas adsorption data. Because of that there is a lack of measured multi-gas adsorption data and only a few examples in literature exist where the separation capability of a material is verified by direct measurements. I will discuss the quantitative analysis of mixed gas adsorption on MOFs measured with breakthrough measurements and compare these data to single gas adsorption measurements and IAST calculated mixed gas adsorption.
