This talk will focus on recent work by our group and our collaborators on the hierarchical self-assembly of block copolymers containing functional metal-containing or pi-conjugated blocks. Self-assembly in the solid state and in solution will be discussed. The development of novel morphologies in bulk and thin films will be described[1] and the use of crystallization-driven self-assembly approaches as a synthetic tool to create hierarchical architectures will also be discussed.[1] Collaborators: C.
