In 1997 the first [2]boraferrocenophane (1  ) was synthesized by Herberhold and Wrackmeyer.1 Its structure along with an alternative synthesis was published in 2007 by our group.2 Analogously, several other [2]borametalloarenophanes, e.g. the [2]borachromoarenophane 2  have been synthesized.Figure 1.
