Many three-dimensional covalent organic nanostructures have been synthesized recently using dynamic covalent chemistry. So far, imine metathesis has been frequently used to prepare these assemblies1. The goal of this project is the development of efficient strategies for the construction of complex, three-dimensional, nanoscale organic molecules, particularly those with heterosequenced2stack and tube structures. We plan to use axial self-assembly based on imine metathesis between reactive arms attached to a discotic core. Multiple, distinct monomers will be assembled into larger structures.
