We report the synthesis of a dioxypyrrolopyrrole-difurano-thiophenyl-diethynyl polymer for use in organic photovoltaics. This polymer incorporates an ethynylene spacer that will reduce steric hindrance and create a better interface between donor and acceptor layers. Alternations of furan and thiophene monomers has been previously reported to increase solubility and allow shorter alkyl chains. Our final polymer was shown to be soluble in most organic solvents. Evaluation of the photophysical properties of the polymer is ongoing.
