Novel dipyrrinone and fluorescent dipyrrinone analogs were synthesized as potential liquid crystals.  The synthesis was accomplished in relatively short syntheses with moderate to high yields.  The synthesis and characterization of these new dipyrrinone and fluorescent dipyrrinone liquid crystal systems will be presented.
