Functionalised amines are ubiquitous throughout the chemical industries, however traditional synthetic methods employ stoichiometric amounts of often toxic and expensive reagents. The aim of this project is to apply hydrogen borrowing technology to prepare functionalised amines (3 ). Pivotal steps in the process are in situ activation of the amine via iridium catalysis and subsequent reaction with nucleophiles. This poster outlines our efforts toward amine functionalisation including the synthesis of polycyclic indoles (6 ).
