The copolymerization of acrylamide( AM) and Isobutane-Ethylhexyl acrylate (2-EHA) in various compositions in feed were prepared by free radical polymerization in absolute ethyl alcohol and ethyl acetate solution at 60 �C under nitrogen atmosphere using benzoyl peroxide (BPO) as the initiator. The copolymerization was studied with emphasis on the reactivity ratios of AM and 2-EHA. The compositions of all the copolymers with different compositions were characterized by element analysis technique. The reactivity ratio of AM and 2-EHA were calculated by the Fineman-Ross (FR, rAM=0.801, r2-EHA=0.574), the  inverted Fineman-Ross (IFR, rAM=0.881, r2-EHA=0.584) , Kelen-Tudos (KT, rAM=0.831, r2-EHA=0.595) and the inverted Kelen-Tudos (IKT, rAM=0.924, r2-EHA=0.592) graphical methods and Yezrielev-Brokhina-Roskin (YBR, rAM=0.856, r2-EHA=0.592)  calculative method based on the data determined by element analysis technique. The results indicate that the five methods are in good agreement and the average reactivity ratios of AM and 2-EHA are 0.859 and 0.588, respectively. In this case, rAMr2-EHA is less than 1, indicating that the copolymer deviates slightly from ideal copolymerization. There is a tendency for the formation of a random copolymer system and a distribution between alternating and ideal with a longer sequence of AM units in the copolymer chain.
