We previously observed that the antibody ch14.18.?CH2 shows high renal uptake when labeled with Cu-64 using the bifunctional chelator (BFC) SarAr. To evaluate the effect of chelator charge on renal uptake, we measured the biodistribution of ch14.18.?CH2 radiolabeled using Sar-derived ligands with different charges and found that renal accumulation 48 h post-injection was lower for BFCs with lower charges.  These results suggest that Sar-derived BFCs with lower charges are preferable for radiolabeling engineered antibodies without intact Fc regions.
