The precisely defined interior cavities of porous metal-organic frameworks with a high degree of chemical diversity are attractive for selective sorption. Peptides can function as flexible linkers in metal-organic frameworks and the resulting guest response will be discussed [1], together with new rigid peptide-based materials [2].  The guest sorption behaviour is studied using computational chemistry approaches, which are also used to understand how selectivity between chemically similar guest molecules can be achieved in flexible porous materials.
