Through solar energy storage, Phase Change Materials (PCM) can be used to reduce our reliance on air conditioning and heating. However, PCM leakage is a priority problem to be solved. Paraffin, as a PCM, will be compounded with HDPE, LDPE and LLDPE respectively in extruder to slow down leakage. Accelerated leakage test will be carried out to measure leakage of paraffin from the blends. Leakage results of 3 types of PE/Paraffin blends with HDPE, LDPE and LLDPE will be compared. The leakage results could be explained by the difference of molecular weight of PE and so on.
