Over the past decade, the synthesis of metal-organic frameworks has been an area of heavy focus at the interface of inorganic, organic and materials chemistry. Our group has initially been focused on developing novel methods for the synthesis of these classes of materials using simple chemical techniques that aim to address limitations in the current synthetic protocols. Here we present a chemical trigger strategy for synthesizing new porous materials.
