Cellular materials are materials that have an interconnected three-dimensional structure. When the cells are completely sealed off from their neighbors, the material is referred to as closed-celled (an example could be foam), whereas if the cells are interconnected with each other through open faces, the material is open-celled.In this talk we will discuss how to fabricate interesting open-cellular and closed cellular structures from emulsions in which Pickering stabilization plays a role. We will show that we can make an open cellular polymer monolith from a Pickering stabilized high internal phase emulsion, which has separate microcellular environments due the use of two types of Pickering stabilizer.Next, we will look at cellular materials which are made through film formation of polymer latexes which are loaded with self-complementary quadruple hydrogen-bond moieties. Finally, we will show that interesting �soft� High Internal Phase Emulsion organogels and thermoresponsive HIPE-hydrogels can be produced.for more info see: www.bonlab.info
