A new series of 3(2H)-pyridazinone based NSAIDs with 4,6-diaryl substitution have been designed and synthesized in order to find better anti-inflammatory agents. The structures of synthesized derivatives have been established by IR, NMR and elemental analysis.  Anti-inflammatory activity of synthesized compounds (20 mg/Kg and 40 mg/kg) was studied using carrageenan-induced rat paw edema model. All compounds exhibited potent anti-inflammatory activity and superior gastrointestinal safety profile than indomethacin. Interestingly bromo unsubstituted derivatives (II) displayed better potency in comparison to substituted counterparts (I).
