Reaction of dialkyl-palladium complexes [Pd(R)2(L)] (R= Me, L= N,N,N',N'-tetramethylethylenediamine; R2= CH2CMe2-o-C6H4, L= 1,4-cyclooctadiene) with two equivalents of PMe3 and 1,3-dimesitylpropane-1,3-dione (H-AcacBiMs) in toluene or dichloromethane at room temperature resulted in the formation of alkyl-diketonate complexes [Pd(AcacBiMs)(R)(PMe3)] (R= Me, 1  ; R= CH2CMe2C?6?H?5?, 2  ) in quantitative yields. Compounds 1  -2  were characterized by elemental analysis, IR and NMR (?1?H, ?13C and ?31?P) spectroscopy. Experimental studies shows that compounds 1  -2  react with a excess of alkyne (methyl-propiolate, phenyl- and diphenyl-acetylene) in toluene or dichloromethane at room temperature to give a mixture of [2 + 2 + 2] cycloaddtion and polymeric compounds, which are effectively separated by HPLC and analized by proton NMR.
