The ACS Teach-Discover-Treat (TDT) initiative provided an opportunity for the community to submit computational drug discovery tutorials aimed toward the treatment of neglected diseases.  Tutorials such as these provide a means of driving the adoption, and extending the utility of, computational drug discovery.  The TDT initiative provides an excellent example of how open science can be used to stimulate discovery.  This was the first year for the TDT initiative and we received six submissions which covered a broad array of topics.  While the steering committee and the judges were not sure what to expect, we were very pleased with the quality of the submissions.  The tutorials ranged in depth from simple exercises that could be carried out in an undergraduate lab, to more complex procedures that would be suited to an ACS short course.  This presentation will cover the criteria used in judging the submissions as well as insights that will guide the direction of future challenges.
