Bithiazole ligands are neutral, four-electron, N-donor bidentate chelating ligands, which are easy to prepare. Despite their striking resemblance to well studied a-diimine systems, we are unaware of any bithiazole-based catalysts. The preparation and characterization of metal-bithiazole complexes will be discussed.
