Aziridines prepared via �C2+N1� catalytic aziridination currently can only be synthesized with a few different R-groups attached to the nitrogen with an aliphatic alkene.  This limitation can be attributed to a lack of a suitable nitrene source and catalyst combination that succeeds with a variety of substituents.  Recently, a new iron tetracarbene aziridination catalyst has succeeded in combining substituted aliphatic alkenes with electron donating and withdrawing aryl azides.  New advancements with this catalyst, which include a broadening of the scope of functional groups on the azide and/or aliphatic alkenes, will be discussed.
