The Division of Small Chemical Businesses (SCHB) was established in 1978 to address the needs of chemists in the small business community and was garnered with full ACS status approval in 1980. Thirty three years later, the SCHB mission remains the same: �To aid in the formation, development and growth of small chemical businesses.� In 2012, the SCHB began partnering with ACS local sections to provide small chemical business programming at local section meetings. The Southeastern Pennsylvania Local Section (SEPACS) 50/60 year member meeting on May 10, 2012, organized by Anis Rahman, Chair SEPSACS, featured SCHB Program Chair Joe Sabol and his presentation entitled: �Becoming a chemical entrepreneur: advice and resources to help you.� In October 2012, SCHB presented a day long symposium at the Northeastern Section (NESACS) 50/60/70 year member celebration, organized by SCHB Past Chair Mukund Chorghade and SCHB member Jack Driscoll, entitled �Starting and financing small chemical businesses.� In February 2013, at the AAAS Meeting in Boston, SCHB and NESACS teamed up again, but this time to provide hands-on nanotechnology activities for local area grade 6-12 students and their families at Family Science Days.
