Dysfunction of 5-HT2CR neurotransmission is thought to underlie a number of psychiatric disorders. The association of the 5-HT2CR with protein phosphatase and tensin homologue (PTEN) has been shown to limit the activity of 5-HT2CR. Disruption of that protein-protein interaction has been shown to restore its activity. Work to develop inhibitors of this protein-protein interaction will be discussed. This will include work with small peptides, cyclic peptides and peptide mimics.
