We will discuss new methodology for the synthesis of alkyl hydroperoxides from 1,1 dihydroperoxides. 1,1 Dihydroperoxides are alkylated using Ag2O and the resulting bisperoxy acetals are hydrolysed to obtain alkyl hydroperoxides under mild conditions. This presentation will discuss the alkylation of 1,1 dihydroperoxides, the influence of reaction conditions and acetal skeleton on the hydrolysis of the bisperoxyacetals, and the thermal stability of the 1,1-dihydroperoxides and bisperoxyacetals
