New catalytic cycles are invented to allow for Pd(II)-catalyzed oxidative C�H activation reactions using O2 as the terminal oxidant. Mono-protected amino acid and 1,10-phenanthroline are found to drastically promote these reactions. Most importantly, mono-protected amino acid ligands are found to increase turnover frequency, shortening the reaction time from two days to 20 minutes.
