Our department offers master's-level programs which combine courses in chemistry and courses in business and project management. These degrees offer a number of advantages for educational development concerning the careers of professional chemists in industry and government. The professional master's programs at IIT were started more than 15 years ago, with lectures broadcast over TV channels at selected viewing sites in the Chicago area. Eventually, these classes were offered online. In this talk we will discuss how institutions can use online technology to create and implement a new learning environment for students, both working chemists in laboratories, as well as students. Feedback from the various industries that employ these students, and feedback from the students will also be mentioned.
