In recent three years, lots of basic research work on benzoxazine resins have been developed in our group. It includes four aspects: (1) the synthetic reaction mechanism of benzoxazine monomers by the raw materials primary amines, phenols and formadehydes in solution; (2) the co-curing mechanism of the blends composed of benzoxazine resins and other thermosets such as epoxy resin, bismaleimide, Novelec or cyanate resin, as well as  the reaction-induced phase separation behaviors of the blends and the morphologies and mechanical properties of the resulted copolymers; (3) synthesis and characterization of some new benzoxazines containing heterocycle structures such as benzimidazole, benzimidazole or pyridine; (4) interaction between transition metal compounds and polybenzoxazines and their effects on thermal stability of polybenzoxazines. Some interesting results will be reported and discussed in the second symposium.
