Sight is a useful tool for learning science. Previously it was perceived that the ability to see was necessary for optimization of learning. This integrated curriculum was constructed at Illinois State University with universal-design principals in mind. This curriculum incorporated model representations of chemical and scientific concepts, lesson plans and lectures to advance the knowledge of students with blindness and low vision (BLV). Sight plays an important role in enhancing one's learning. This curriculum focuses primarily on adapting lessons to be a series of multi-sensory exercises to aid students with BLV in comprehension of scientific knowledge. Implementations of multi-sensory science learning principals indicated an increase in student's ability to understand multiple science processes. This curriculum is geared towards teachers to promote and to more fully integrate students with BLV in science education.
