A series of isatin derivatives were synthesized and fully characterized. The synthesized molecules were studied for anticonvulsant property, neurotoxicity and LD50. Various modifications in the isatin molecule lead to development of a molecule with no neurotoxicity and low LD50 and showing better activity than isatin itself and other drugs. This research will show how the various group modification in the isatin lead to different levels of toxicity.
