Thallium salts have long served as convenient agents in transition metal research, as well as serving as antibiotics, catalysts, and more. Thallium salts are superior to their sodium and potassium analogs in terms of air, moisture, and thermal stability. Additionally, they pose no environmental hazard associated with most sodium or potassium analogs. The synthesis and characterization of some novel thallium cyclopentadienide salts are discussed herein.
