In 1992, supported through the WCC Eli Lilly Travel Award, the first presentation of my thesis work took place at the 203rd ACS National Meeting in San Francisco, CA.  Little did I know then that this groundwork, both in terms of content and preparation, would form the basis of an interview seminar, as well as other invited lectures over the following years, that has now grown into a medicinal chemistry career spanning 20 years in 5 therapeutic areas and 2 organizations.  Most importantly, during this time, I have had the privilege of working with numerous talented and dedicated colleagues in the quest for new medicines.  I am very honored to have been a travel award winner and will describe professional and personal experiences that have influenced the career path that has taken me to where I am today.
