In this paper, a new hypercrosslinked microporous polymer SBE-XDC was prepared by continuing Fried-Crafts alkylation polymerization succedent modification of sulfonic groups. The chemical and pore structure of above polymers were characterized by FT-IR, EA and BET. The results showed that the polymer possess high BET specific surface area (583.05 m2/g) and large pore volumes (1.047cm3/g), the surface modification almost did not destroy the porous structure. Adsorption of Cu2+ from aqueous solution onto SBE-XDC resin at 283K, 298K and 313K was studied. The Equilibrium adsorption data was fitted very well with Langmuir model. The free energy changes ?G for adsorption of Cu2+onto the SBE-XDC in the aqueous solution was evaluated. The negative values of ?G indicated that the overall adsorption processes were spontaneous and thermodynamically favorable.
