Lately, dendrimers have studied for many applications because of their structural properties. Dendrimers have highly branched structure and their terminal group is flexible depending on each applications. Dendrimers with magnetic-core had studied for biomedical area such as drug delivery systems. Magnetic-core of dendrimer makes ability for site controlling and recycling. Poly(N-isopropylacrylamide)(NIPAAm) is shrinks above lower critical solution temperature. According to this unique property, there was many researches about thermo-sensitive polymers. Encapsulate of smart polymer with gold nano particle, removal of contaminant by scavenging were performed. In this study, we synthesized smart polymer and adopted at magnetic nano particle. Polymerized smart polymer which has thermo-sensitive ability makes possible to release nutrients for promote microbial growth at appropriate site. It has a potential to application for bioremediation in environmental area. Magnetic nano particle was synthesized by co-precipitaion with FeSO4�H2O and FeCl3�H2O in basic condition. Size of synthesized magnetic nano particle is 8~10nm. NIPAAm, N,N-dimethylacrylamide, methyl 3-mercaptopropionate and 2,2-azobis(2-methylpropionate) were used for preparation of poly(NIPAAm). Smart polymer is synthesized by reaction of Poly(NIPAAm) and p-nitrophenyl chloroformate-activated dextran. Then, encapsulation of magnetic-cored dendrimer is followed. X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analyzer, scanning electron microscope, transmission electron microscope and fourier transform infrared spectroscopy were used for characterization.
