The use of precious metals in demanding catalytic reactions is well established. Au, Pd and Pt feature in many studies of nanoparticles for catalytic applications. We present the activity of supported AuPd and PdPt nanoalloys prepared by different techniques for benzylalcohol and toluene oxidation. The effect of a second noble metal on the activity and selectivity Pd based catalysts in selected oxidation reactions will be discussed. In depth structural studies show the nature of the alloys in our well controlled and highly active catalysts. Core shell and random alloy structures can be assess by our methodologies and affords differences in the catalysis.
